Biografi

Yudi Rahmawan received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Seoul National University, Korea (2012), MSc degree in Materials Science from Yeungnam University, Korea (2007) and BS degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from University of Indonesia (2002). He was a postdoctoral fellow at Professor Shu Yang research group in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Pennsylvania, United States (March 2012 - August 2013). His research area is in the design and analysis of bio-inspired functional surfaces with multiscale structures. Specifically, he is interested in exploration of (de)-wetting and dry adhesion behaviors of bio-inspired surfaces by tuning both physical and chemical aspects for practical applications. Some of the potential applications of his research include the non-wettable coatings for anti-corrosion, energy and water harvesting, green/smart buildings, non-contaminating adhesives for automotive/aerospace engineering and biomedical devices. He has published more than 15 papers in peer-reviewed SCI journals, such as Langmuir, Soft Matter, J. Materials Chemistry A, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, etc
